Greetings,
I'm having the same issue, only my problem is not resolving after uninstalling and reinstalling. McAfee Antivirus is detecting a fileless threat everytime I attempt to open a document from my Google Drive in the file explorer window. I've tried uninstalling Google Drive and reinstalling, uninstalling McAfee and reinstalling, but the only thing that works predictably is leaving McAfee uninstalled OR disabling Antivirus Real Time Scanning OR downloading something to my desktop to work on it.
I work off the cloud...this is REALLY impeding my ability to function. Please help!

Chef

This solution has not solved the problem. This is a significant problem that is preventing access to data and causing a substantial disruption. It has been a number of days now. When is a proper solution expected?
I have the same issue and have , like some other users in this thread, found that the solution (reinstall McAfee) does not work. I was told yesterday by the support desk that the engineering team are working on it. Regular updates on this issue would be appreciated in the meantime.
We´re start experiencing this issue since last week and is propagating on all the computers.
We need an urgent solution to this critical Issue.

I would add this also is affecting PDF files.
A temporary solution - BUT NOT a good one - is to disable real-time scanning.
