XP with SP1 should be fine, I just checked the System Requirements on the McAfee website. (Although it cannot hurt to update to SP2 or even SP3).

My guess is that you have a 64-bit version of XP Pro, which is not supported. (64-bit Vista is OK, though).

//NL: McAfee werkt niet op een 64-bit XP versie, ik vermoed dat dat 't probleem is. Op Vista 64-bit werkt 't weer wel.

That is your choice but you can always try this step if you wish to try.


1. Click Start, Run, type regedit, and click OK.
2. Navigate to the following registry key:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\]


3. Right-click on Layers and select Export. Save this file to your desktop and note the name.
4. Right-click on Layers again and select Delete.
5. Close the Registry Editor and restart your computer.
