MVT says DAT file as 'fixed' but older file shows under 'about'

Jump to solution

Windows7

SecurityCenter 9.15

VirusScan build 13.15.113

Last update: 1-7-10

Lost update message after last update re: notification of updates (ok) or if new ones were installed (on manual check); also lost the 'bell' sound of same. Circling arrow shows in task bar however, then disappears. I assume that all updates have been checked and ok. Used latest MVT from McAfee site and it found a registry error: in the DAT file, 'expected 5856, existing 5854. It then "fixed" the file, but "about' (Product information) still says that I have the 5854 DAT file even after re-boot of system. Is this an issue or not for me. Thanks for any and all help.

There is a problem with DAT 5855 and they are working on it.  It will probably culminate with it being by passed by the next one.  Just bear with us.

Terrific and quick response. DAT has already been updated and works correctly. Thank you for all you and others do. There is always a tendency to think the issue is with 'your computer.'
