I needed to replace a Mcafee Total Protection that came with my DELL laptop for an Internet Security which I bought some months ago.
I uninstallled the Total Protection and then installed the Internet Security, after rebooting the laptop most of the programs would not work since the computer could not find the .exe files, showing a message error that says "application not found" or "Windows cannot find this file". I am running on Vista.
I ran the MVT healthcheck and gave me 40+ errors, most of them not finding expected dll files. Some of the errors
Service: mcnaiann "C:\Program Files\Common Files\McAfee\McSvcHost\McSvHost.exe" /McCoreSvc
Expected File not Present
File: c:\program files\mcafee\mpf\FWJsRes.dll
Any suggestions?
Hi,
Sorry for the delayed response, Can you confirm if the issues still persist. If yes, then please clarify and follow the steps suggested bellow.
Did you made any recent changes to the system (Computer)?
What is the version of internet net explorer (IE) you use?
Let me know the McAfee version installed in your system
Steps
We suspect a malware infection in the system. My suggestion would be performing complete scan on system.
I am having same problem. I went from factory installed version of McAfee to a brand new version that I installed - Total Protection 2010 and all exe files nolonger work.
Help!!
Check for infection and also check this: http://community.mcafee.com/docs/DOC-1264
I tried the suggested fix, with no results
