Re: Blue Wheel shows on shield indefinitely - supposedly checking for updates

Jump to solution

No we are limited re info we can give out re other bug bug to date no one been complaining re blue notification icon issues since the fix arrived. If it still happens maybe  running MVT the virtual technician or a reinstall would fix the glitch.

Both links available via the listing on the Get help tab above.

O.K, thanks. I had already ran MVT which showed no probs. Will monitor and do a clean and fresh install if it persists.

Who did you get your McAfee from? The fix was being rolled out to partners ie ISPs and PC firms such as Dell when McAfee found a major bug in the partner version so the update was halted the fix is in 14.0.6120 which has been upgraded to all subscription users and is now filtering down to partners. I see Dell got  or started to get the update yesterday. It will come very soon.

If that is so best to uninstall and reinstall from your account that will guarantee 14.0.6120

Uninstall Mcafee

PK, I was just confirming that the Dell roll out of 6120 is happening. The previous build took care of the wheel except on intermittent occasions. I think  those times were because I missed the "restart required" notification. Unfortunately a hover over or right click did nothing on those occasions. I'll need more time to see how 6120 behaves.

Thanks.
