Limited User change parental control settings

Hello:

I'm on XP 32bit SP2 using Total Protection 2009 with the latest updates. My limited Window users can change their parental control settings to whatever they desire (which is adult with no image blocking). I have completely uninstalled Mcafee and reinstalled with no luck and I have just uninstalled Parental Control and reinstalled that with the same results. The limited users have no access to my administrator account so that can't be the issue. I was on an hour long chat with technical support but they had no answer to my issue other than to delete my limited user account and re-add it, but I shouldn't have to do this. What can I do/install/fix to stop my Limited User accounts from changing their Parental Control settings?

Please advise.

Thank you.

RE: Limited User change parental control settings

hi,

the limited user that we are having issues with... was it a previous administrator as well? i mean when it was created did it have administrative rights... and then you simply changed it to limited?

can you try creating another limited account... and then test if the new limited account can alter the settings of the parental controls?

RE: Limited User change parental control settings

The other Limited users were setup as Limited and this has never changed. I am the administrator and I have 3 limited users.

I created another limited user account (named test) and turned on Image Filtering and Age Appropriate Searching then set the Content Rating to Younger Teen and saved it. When I logged off of my administrator account and went into the new limited user account (test) I could access the Parental Control settings screen and the settings were off for both Image Filtering and Age Appropriate Searching and the Content Rating was at Adult. I logged off of the test account and went back into my administrator account and the settings for test were off, off, and adult.

I also performed a reboot rather than a logoff after configuring the settings and this came back with the same results.

So now I am at a loss. Could one of my limited users install a program to circumvent Parental Control settings?
