Can't delete quarantine folder after uninstalling from High Sierra

I had Mcafee AV installed on my High Serra Mac. It came bundled with a VPN so I took advantage of the one year license. I wanted to try another AV so support uninstalled it today. I notice there is still a locked folder named "Quarantine" at the root level of my boot drive. I can't open it to see what's in there because I don't have the privileges (even logged in as admin of the computer). Was this folder was put there by McAfee and can it be safely deleted if I get the privileges? Thanks for help.
