example of misleading advertising (or why McAfee is not popular in Russia)

Hi,

Here is an example of unfair advertising on Yandex.

It says: install McAfee. Translation: install Kaspersky IS and enjoy peace of mind.

It is very unpleasant and annoying. And I changed the search engine Yandex -> Google

Yandex & Kaspersky, being Russian, and considering the state of relations between Russia and the USA that isn't surprising.

Microsoft has made so that IE11 now there is no Google search Russian (google.ru) only Bing and Yandex plugin can be downloaded for IE11/edge, but the "Google suggestions search" will be English..

- "Google.ru" no plugin more 2 years ..

I use Firefox and it's a plug in to that but you can change search engines if you wish.

Well, I can try Firefox (Even though I just got used to the Explorer over the past 10 years)

But I do not know - in a Firefox will run the plugin McAfee WebAdvisor? (I love this plugin in IE)

,

If you have your settings in (Web Advisor) selecting the second option ' (Tell me if a search result is safe in any (Search Engine) you should be OK

Of course you may have to (Enable) the Web Advisor Extension in Firefox.

Peter (Ex_Brit) would know better as he uses (Firefox) opposed to me, I utilize Internet Explorer 11.

Re: example of misleading advertising (or why McAfee is not popular in Russia)

That's not all.

it's brash russian anti-virus software UnHackMe after scanning writes that 5 files (all McAfee files) - "I do not know McAfee - remove all?"

- I removed UnHackMe, but not McAfee files 😉 but this is ridiculous - unaware they who is McAfee.

"UnHackMe - the most effective killer of any malware."

"Tell me if a search result is safe in any (Search Engine) you should be OK"

- Yes (in any search engine in Yandex McAfee Web Advisor also works)
