Trouble with scan--constant initializing

The operating system I'm running on my MacBook Air is Monterrey 12.2.1. I'm in the process of trying to run a full scan with McCafee. The first time it quit after hours of running. This time it's been running over 24 hours and I'm still getting the message that it's still initializing. Is it supposed to take so long for that part of the scanning process?

  • May I know the McAfee version that installed on the device.
  • Was is working fine earlier?
  • Any recent changes happened on the device?

Try to force shutdown the system and run the scan again. It might get resolved by this step only. Also, as a reminder you can delete your system cache before scanning again. The new scan that will be done after restarting the system must be a fresh one.
