I would also like to add that my computer went absoluty nuts after the latest updates. BSODs ranging from cache_manager to bad_pool_caller. Every test I did showed a possible bad motherboard, ram, or hard drive. Long story short; W/O the latest updates my computer runs fine, W/ my computer goes off the rails like a speeding locomotive in a michael bay movie.

Do you have a support number with respect to the chat with the McAfee tech? If so please post the number here on this forum.
Also download the mclogs file that vinod posted near the top of this thread and run it after a bsod in safe mode without networking and post the zip file here. Also post PC specs/OS and whether you get your mcafee version from mcafee dorect or via a partner such as your ISP or Dell etc.

In the attached text file there is some info about the hardware/OS of the computer that has the problem.
I had McAfee with an ACER laptop I bought and when the trial period expired I purchased three licenses.
I have raised this problem 5 seperate times now and they cant fix it.
McAfee "Total Security 2010" is just not compatible with WIN97.
How can I get my money back? This is costing me a lot of money!
Disgruntled User. Never Again!!!!
I just spend $9.95 for priority support. A nice woman by the name of Gomathy told me that McAfee is experiencing problems with last update with Windows 7 64 bit systems. They are working on a patch. I am told it will take a week, and I will get an email telling me to reinstall McAfee and the new update. Of course I am not happy since until the patch comes I have no Anti-virus protection so I am not willing to risk using the computer for email or on the web. So, I am out of business till the new patch comes. Hope this helps some of you a bit.
It is a bit disturbing that I had to spend 10 buck to be told that they have a problem and they need a patch!

Interesting as I have just reinstalled in win 7 64 bit with no issues with ask around about this.

Dinesh,
Upon reinstalling McAfee I don't get a blue screen until i reboot to complete the installation. And if i reboot again, blue screen. So, i reboot in safe mode, and restart computer from a know good point before the upgrade from McAfee that caused the problem. Of course when it comes back up, since now it thinks it is an older release of McAfee it tries to download an update, and off we go again. Reboot and blue screen. So what i do is remove McAfee before it goes for the update, and then the computer is fine. Can reboot all i want and it works perfectly. I suppose i could have turned off the auto download of McAfee in Safe Mode, but since now i have removed McAfee completely and need to reinstall it, and it reloads with the defective update (as told to me by the tech people on the phone), there is no sense in reloading it till they come up with the patch.
Hope that makes sense,
I hope you think your tech people are correct and in a week there will be a patch and this problem will go away?

Blue screen after Sept 6 update, called Mcafee service escillating , now they says it is a know problem on Windows 7 64 bit , and will take 3 WEEKS to fix, and I have to remove naitvirus or it will keep happening. I had to use safe mode and restore to get it back. So I removed it , install Norton (which worked fine) and got a refund, that took a few phone calls as well.
