McAfee doesnt detect other Anti-Virus during installation?

Hi,

 

For some reason McAfee doesnt detect if PC already has other Anti-Virus  already installed (Avast for example) This causes lots of problems because then computer has two antivirus installed. Most of other anti-virus softwares detect other anti-virus during installation and ask user to remove them before installing. However this is not case with McAfee. IS this going to be fixed?

 

This causes lots of problems with olfder people and people who dont know much about computers. MAking their computers slow and so on.

No one really cares about this? McAfee is vere very low quality because it installs itself ewven though there is conflicts....Are developers lazy or just plainly stupid or what?

Hello @Vortex

Regret the delay in getting back to you and it is strange that you are facing this issue. McAfee does detect when a 3rd party app is installed and the user can choose to remove the app or proceed with installing McAfee without removing it.

Please let me know which 3rd party app is installed on the machine which McAfee failed to detect and I can have the same checked from my end as well.

The article TS102253 has the details on which 3rd party apps are incompatible and McAfee does detect if any of the apps mentioned iun the article is installed

  • Safe Connect VPN:  You will receive free, unlimited access to our VPN wireless on supported devices. Users not on auto-renewal have access to 500 MB/month of bandwidth.

  • Eligibility: McAfee® Identity Monitoring Service Essentials is available within active McAfee Total Protection and McAfee LiveSafe subscriptions with identity monitoring for up to 10 unique emails. Phone number monitoring is enabled upon activation of Automatic Renewal. Not all identity monitoring elements are available in all countries. See Product Terms of Service for more information. 
  • Your subscription is subject to our License Agreement and Privacy Notice. Product features may be added, changed or removed during the subscription term. Some features may require registration and a valid ID number to activate. See System Requirements for additional information.
  • While McAfee Identity Monitoring Service provides you tools and resources to protect yourself from identity theft, no identity can be completely secure.
