Error loading Mcafee - mfenlfk.sys

I cannot install Mcafee due to the following error:

The file 'mfenlfk.sys' on McAfee NDIS Light Filter is needed

I have followed the instuctions here twice but with the same result:

Any suggestions?

Are you getting browse option to find the path for file mfenlfk.sys while installing McAfee?

If yes, please click on “Browse” button and most probably it will show the file mfenlfk.sys in the default folder and all you need to select the file and continue the installation process. If you are unable to find the file in opened location, try at “C:\Program Files\Common Files\McAfee\VSCore”.

If yes, please click on “Browse” button and most probably it will show the file mfenlfk.sys in the default folder and all you need to select the file and continue the installation process. If you are unable to find the file in opened location, try at “C:\Program Files\Common Files\McAfee\VSCore”.

And the solution worked for me too, so thanks also. Lucky I Googled the problem and found this solution. Pity McAfee Support don't include the tip in their quite extensive uninstall/reinstall instructions (TS100344)

On the bright side - apart from finally managing to uninstall/reinstall McAfee after a Windows 7 upgrade - I've found this community, now bookmarked!
