firewall blocking laptop connection

hello. i have two pc, a desktop and a laptop. My laptop shares my desktop's internet connection using a wireless router, D-Link. Both PC can connect to the internet with no problems. However my laptop can't connect to my desktop. But when I disabled McAfee's firewall, i can connect and share files with my desktop.

I would like to know if there is a way for me to connect to my desktop without having to disable McAfee's firewall?

Thanks a bunch.

solved problem

hello guys. I solved my dilemma. I opened Mcafee Security Center. clicked on Report Logs. clicked view logs. clicked on my laptop's IP Add and click trust this.

now, my laptop and desktop are happily communicating with each other.
