Subscription Verification After Turning Off Firewall Block

This is happening frequently enough that I'm wondering if it's an intentional bug; either way, I'm posting this here:

I'm using Security Center 9.3 (customized for my Gateway GT4010). When I'm going to be away from my computer for a bit, I use the Lockdown Firewall feature of Personal Firewall 10.3. I come back an unlock the firewall, and within two minutes - like clockwork - it says, "Your Computer is not fully protected" and, when I click on the pop-up menu from McAfee, it says that my Subscription needs to be verified.

Is this just an intentional "glitch" on the part of McAfee's updating program, or is it something else?

RE: Subscription Verification After Turning Off Firewall Block

Hi,
Pleas clarify,
What is the version of operating system you use (Vista / XP)?
Post the DAT version and Engine version of McAfee Virus scan (Open Security center-click on about in the Right hand bottom panel-check the Build version and DAT version for McAfee Virus scan) and McAfee Personal Firewall Build version?
Steps:
If you have any third party security program please have it removed.
Perform the McAfee Virtual Technician in both computer and post the session ID http://mvt.mcafee.com/mvt/default.asp

Windows XP SP3 is the operating system.
Virus Scan - Bulid: 13.3.127; DAT: 5635.0000
Personal Firewall - Build: 10.3.111

Virtual Technician found no problems; Session ID was 18562384.

RE: Subscription Verification After Turning Off Firewall Block

Hi,

By reviewing the MVT session ID I was able to find that you computer is having the McAfee virus scan Plus and McAfee internet security suite installed together in the system so basically we have to uninstall and reinstall any the one program in the system in order to do this please go head and follow the Document ID: TS100507 {http://service.mcafee.com/faqdocument.aspx?id=TS100507&lang=en_US&prior_tid=2&AnswerID=16777217&turl... } and update us on the status.

Uninstalled and reinstalled as prescribed, minimizing possible issues by physically disconnecting modem until required to reconnect upon installation. No issues as of right now. Will try Firewall and then see if issue happens again.

Six minutes later and no warning or other notifications. I'm happy. I just wish I didn't have to uninstall and then re-install everything to get it back and working.
