Last night i downloaded itunes from the official site, installed it on my laptop and i could browse the web fine, but now I can't.
McAfee can update fine but the Virtual Technician says theres no internet connection. Command Prompt can ping google and get a response.
When I use any web browser, it seems as though the connection gets auto stopped, like I pressed the ESC button after I pressed enter.
Any help?
Side note: don't mention anything that requires an internet connection.
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit fully updated.

I moved this provisonally to Personal Firewall because that is probably the culprit here.
You can approach this in several ways, but first one to check would be permissions.
Double-click (or right-click and select) the taskbar icon to open SecurityCenter
Click Web and Email Protection
Click Firewall
Click Internet Connection for Programs
Click the word Program at the top of that list to arrange them alphabetically
Ensure the iTunes/iTunes Helper and all of your web browsers (including Internet Explorer if you are using another one) have Full Access.
Edit any that don't and Save the result.
The other way would be, on opening Firewall, click Restore Defaults and then give permissions all over again to anything that demands it.
(Operating System functions are automatically set).
You could also check with Technical Support as it is now a free phone call (or online Chat) - linked under Useful Links at the top of this page.
Everything has full access in the firewall, restoring defaults made no difference. Disabling the firewall makes no difference.
Virus scan found nothing.
Can't connect to 127.0.0.1 or router config page.
I'll try tech support but I have a feeling they would want remote access.
Have you used the Windows Network diagnostic tool to repair the connection, see if it finds anything?
Right-click the Network icon by the clock and select 'Diagnose and Repair'
Yes support will want to link with your machine most likely.
I forgot to add, also go into Network & Sharing Center main page and make sure that iTunes didn't set up its own Network, if it did, disable it and the system should then default to it's own. Maybe a reboot required.
I have done the diagnose and repair and there was no issues found.
iTunes didn't set up a new network.
Ok, I can access the internet using Internet Explorer 64bit only now, normal version doesn't work, neither does the other browsers.
Hmm, and it is best to use the 32-bit browsers anyway because most add-ons are designed for 32-bit. Let's try the following.
Open 32-bit Internet Explorer and got to Tools/Internet Options/Advanced and click Reset, Apply and OK any prompts.
Close and reopen it and go to Tools/Manage Add-ons and re-enable any you need.
See if that helps.
Thanks for the suggestion, tried it and everything remains the same.
Try MVT again - http://mvt.mcafee.com/
See if you can connect to Support.
32 bit browser doesn't work, 64 bit opens it but can't run the download as it says "Unable to reach McAfee server. Please check your internet connection." Hence no support connection can be made.
