I am trying to block ports in the Firewall. Security level is in Stealth. Show Smart Recommendations. Enable UDP tracking. Network>Range>Standard. In System Service have checked only 2 ports but scanner is showing multiple open ports. The two ports are checked preset=Trusted,Standard, and Public. Should they be Standard (includes Trusted)? The help instructions is not specific when instructing to block ports. I want to block all other ports. Thank you.
Are you sure it is McAfee that is exposing a port? Because by default in that setting it stealths all ports otherwise there wouldn't be much point in marketing it.
NOTE: If you have a router ShieldsUp or whatever you use to test the firewall will be reading that instead of McAfee.
From the help section in my Security Center.....
Block access to an existing system service port
You can close an existing port to block remote network access to a system service on your computer.
You can also add whatever ports you choose in that pane.
By enabling UDP tracking allows other computers to "see" your machine.

The FreePortSCanner has detected 18 ports open and 18 closed ports. I have tried adding one port and then unchecking that, but that doesn't work.
Are you using a router? Freeportscanner is checking that and not McAfee.
Try using ShieldsUp as a second opinion if not: https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2
Thanks Peter. You are probably right. I went to perform a "LeakTest" at ShieldsUp!! But McAfee clearly identified the downloading of this test program as "potentially unwanted program". So I didn't go ahead. http://www.grc.com/lt/leaktest.htm
If there is another way of performing this test I would believe that it would solve a number of problems.
I went to perform the PC Flank Test but McAfee identified this in the same category. ie.PUP.http://www.pcflank.com/pcflankleaktest.htm

With a "PUP" you can allow it in order to proceed with the test. However on the link I posted above all you need to do it click the "Proceed" button and then select "All Service Ports" to check for open ports. As I stated though, should you have a router it will be reading that and not McAfee.
