Email flagged as (Friend, not-spam), repeatedly reclassified as Spam.

Not always, but a few emails keep bouncing ito Spam no matter how they are re-clasified using the (Friend, Not-Spam) tools.

@guthrie

Even though a sender is marked as a friend if the email marked as SPAM with the critical rating it would end up in the SPAM folder. You can see the friend list in Anti-Spam > Friend List. For more details on this, you can click "Learn more" in the same window on the left to Edit button.

@guthrie

For understanding, please let us know whether you have seen any identical phrases, subject, domain etc., for the emails which were marked as SPAM.  Also, try creating customer filtering rules with the below steps and check

  1. Open your McAfee product.
  2. Open Web and Email Protection.
  3. Click Anti-Spam.
  4. Open the Custom Filtering Rules drawer.
  5. Click Add.
  6. Under Action, select Allow to allow the specified messages through, or Block to prevent them from getting through.
  7. Under Field, select one of the following to block:
    • Body: This refers to the actual message content.
    • Header: This refers to the information in the address fields.
    • Recipient: This refers to the person receiving the message.
    • Sender: This refers to the person sending the message.
    • Subject: This refers to the subject line of the email in question.

  8. Type the word or phrase you want Anti-Spam to block or allow, based on your previous choices.

    You can also select Use regular expressions to find particular words and characters in your custom filtering rule to specify common terms you frequently see in spam email. Anti-Spam attempts to detect and block them.

  9. Click Apply.

Siva

When I open the McAfee icon in taskbar, it opens livesafe, and I do not see a "web & Email option".

I did this, but why do I have to manually add what the "Add Friend" button should have aleady done?

Where can I see the list of Friends - i.e. items that should be white-listed?

Thank  you.

Yes, the address was already in the Friends list - but it was still gettign flagged.

I thought that "Friend" was a whitelist - but apparently not.

So I did  now add it to the Custom filtering rules.
