No spam filtered in Outlook 2002

Hi,

I have recently continued my Internet Security 2010 subscription for upcoming year.

I had to download the 'new' version from the internet and reinstalled.

Now my email is not filtered anymore for spam.

All spam is stored in my inbox, while my McAfee anti-spam is configured to store spam in  the anti-spam map and set for aggresive scan .

I have to use the red spam button in Outlook to select the spammail, but still the same mail comes in my inbox the next time.

Also when I start Outlook from the Windows Start button, these McAfee-spam/no-spam buttons do not appear, while starting Outlook from the desktop shortcut they appear normally.

I use XP-Pro, Outlook 2002 SP3, McAfee Security Center V10.5.216, McAfee Anti-spam 11.5.131

Before my reinstall everything worked fine.

What has gone wrong ?

Re: No spam filtered in Outlook 2002

Hi there,

Before my reinstall everything worked fine.

What has gone wrong ?

Probably the settings may have !!!

Please navigate through security center and check if the antispam configurations are set right for your email client , if not re-assign them. That should do it.

  1. Open SecurityCenter.
  2. Click Web and Email Protection.
  3. Click Anti-Spam.
  4. Click Anti-Spam Toolbar.
  5. Verify a checkmark is present in the box beside the email client in which you want the toolbar to display.

Please get back to us, if you encounter any issues.

Re: No spam filtered in Outlook 2002

Thnx for your response, but.....

Yes there is a checkmark besides 'Outlook'.

Also there are checkmarks at:

Spam securitylevel = aggresive

Save marked spammail in Spammap.

Re: No spam filtered in Outlook 2002

Please go through the below settings and let me know the status;

Open security center -Click Web & Email protection

Click on Antispam - Click on Email processing and check if the settings looks like the below image;

Spam processing.JPG

Check if McAfee is set to Store spam in Inbox or move it to spam folder ,

Also, let me know if there is a seperate , spam folder created below your inbox, if possible attach me with a screen cap of you outlook screen.

Re: No spam filtered in Outlook 2002

Pleas read my first question in this thread.

'"Now my email is not filtered anymore for spam.

See also attached screenshots, I know it's in Dutch but it's the same screen.

Re: No spam filtered in Outlook 2002

In your initial post you said that you had to reinstall the McAfee suites, could you please let me know if you ran the McAfee removal tool to cleanup McAfee and then reinstall McAfee. If not, could you plese click on Useful links at the top of this page and restart the computer. Login back to your account page and reinstall the products and let me know if you still experinece the same issue.

Unfortunately Outlook 2002 is not supported anymore. You’ll need to upgrade to at least Outlook 2003 or use another client.
