firewall stealth mode, MySQL

Hi,

I am using Windows XP, service pack2, McAfee firewall 10. I have administrator privileges to this computer and I am not connected to a network.

Recently, I have been unable to connect to the MySQL server installed on this machine, unless I disable the McAfee firewall. Also, 'localhost' seems unreacheable.

I have enabled port 3306 using System Services, but it did not solve the problem.

In addition, I used to be able to run the firewall on standard, tight or stealth modes. Now I only have the options of running on standard or stealth modes. The option tight no longer appears on the security level panel.

My questions:

How can I connect to the MySQL server without having to turn off the firewall?
How can I see (and use) the tight mode on the security level panel?

Thank you for your assistance.
