Unneeded pop up in the lower right of the screen

Every few days a McAfee pop-up appears in the lower right of the screen with some message about livesafe. For example, today it is a safety feature reminder. However, most of the pop-up is hidden off the screen on the right, so I cannot read all the pop-up or remove it. I need to restart my computer for the pop-up to disappear. How can I stop these unwanted pop-ups? And how can I remove them when they appear without having to restart my computer? Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion.

The information alerts box is unchecked and has been unchecked for some time. That has not stopped the pop-ups. I cannot find any setting that specifically says no pop-ups.
