Problem with mfehidk.sys

Today I had to uninstall McAfee Livesafe that came with my Dell XPS laptop because it was throwing this error every time I plugged in my Novation Summit keyboard to the USB jack, the error is "mfehidk.sys  kmode_exception_not_handled", and this causes my Dell laptop to bluescreen and reboot.

As soon as I uninstalled McAfee Livesafe, this problem went away.  So now it appears that I cannot run McAfee Livesafe on my computer anymore if I also want to use my Novation Summit synth (which plugs into USB).

I see other people have had similar problems with mfehidk.sys crashing their system.  How can this problem be fixed?
