Firewall question.

Jump to solution

I have McAfee Total Protection -- One Device.  All is up to date.

I have my McAfee Firewall installed and enabled; Windows Firewall should not be enabled.  But under my computer Services, Windows Firewall is listed as "Started" and "Automatic".  Should I mark the Windows Firewall to "Stop" the service?  Or just leave it as is?

Hi @mrshvd3,

Greetings from McAfee.

You can leave the service as it is. When the windows firewall serice is started and automatic, it doesnt mean that it has been turned on. It is in a state where it is ready and can be turned on when you need it. But since you have the McAfee firewall enabled already you dont need the windows firewall to be turned on.
