I have just encountered this behavior today on my Dell Win 11 PC.
Upon making this change, and rebooting my PC, it was stuck in a "Restarting" status and ultimately had to be powered down.
After rebooting, the McAfee Chromium Container Delegate is taking up between 9 and 10 GB of memory and my PC is running very hot.
@Venkat_YM posted the workaround, basically suggesting subscribers not use specific functionality of the product, over a year ago.
Any updates? This is still an issue.
Appreciatively,
MJ2023
Hi @MJ2023
Greetings from McAfee.
Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
May I know the McAfee version?
Regards,
Venkat
The easiest way to temporarily get rid of this in Windows 10 Home, 64-bit, is to sign out, sign into another user, wait until the other user is fully ready for operation (all taskbar icons displayed), then sign out and return to the original user. I normally operate in a User profile and don't log in as an Administrator to minimize hacker issues (far less system control as a user - for times when I need to do lots of system stuff, I log into the Admin account). If you don't have a second account on your system, this would be a good time to create one, even if you only use it to bypass this disastrous bug.
