Hi - I regularly get 3 x vshieldscanner jobs running simultaneously each using over 80% CPU (240% total) . It's a big drain on power and slows other processes down.
I've turned off scheduled scans as advised by some others but this is still happening
I can't believe this is normal & would appreciate advice as to how to stop it happening.
Thanks in advance.
Hi @dj51ban
Greetings from McAfee.
While running the Mcafee scan try ejecting external drives from the computer so that CPU Performance will be normal .because mcafee will be scanning those drives while running the scan ,that may lead to high CPU performance . if you still facing the issue after trying those steps kindly contact Mcafee Support team .

The only external drive I have attached is y time machine. I don't really want to have to disconnect that.
Also - Scheduled scans is turned off so I don't understand why these multiple jobs keep running from time to time ?
Appreciate for further advice.
