whiteList.length error

When I try to open the McAfee Site advisor program from IE I receive the error message "An error has occured in the script on this page. Line 305; Char: 24; error 'whiteList.length' is null or not an object; code 0; URL about: blank; Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?" If I click yes or no I receive the same message.  I have tried re-installing and restarting.  I'm running windows XP. Can someone help?

Could you please explain us how is that your are opening McAfee site advisor from IE ?Also, is it the normal site advisor or Site Advisor plus.

Click on the small arrow mark beside site advisor tool bar on IE and let us know the version details .

Please provide us with a screen shot of the below error .

version 3.3.1.133 - purchased site advisor and trying to get it up and running. Error occurs when I click on the down arrow and select options. McAfee bar is grayed out. Thanks for your help.

It may be something to do with IE or SA settings.

I too have XP : are you on SP3?

And IE (IE8) - your version?

And SiteAdvisor 3.3.1.133 - same as yours.

I'm seeing no problems with opening SiteAdvisor review pages in IE, so your IE or SiteAdvisor settings may be different.

In IE, click on the down arrow beside the rectangular McAfee icon, and select Options to open the settings window. Under General, have you enabled SSL? And under Secure Search have you enabled Secure Search, or made Yahoo the default for your homepage or search engine? I can't really see anything on those pages that might cause this.

The real culprit looks like the Trusted Sites page. If you don't have any sites in that list, pick one from a shortlist of safe sites - microsoft.com, community.mcafee.com, anything you trust - and add it. The list will no longer have a zero length (entries >0, list length >0) and the script error should go away. If not, we'll look at IE settings.
