mozilla 3

Hi,

My questions is about siteadvisor on mozilla 3. I install fine and it runs for the first time, but when i close mozilla and open it back up siteadvisor is gone. I have to install it again in order for it to work again. Is there a reason for this or am i forgetting to change a setting somewhere?

RE: mozilla 3

Do you mean Firefox 3? There's an issue with the latest SiteAdvisor (version 2.8) occupying an entire toolbar by itself. That is being dealt with by the developers. This is the first time I've heard it disappear.

Can you check Firefox Tools/Add-ons and make sure that you have an entry for SiteAdvisor there? It will be under "Extensions". If there is more than one uninstall the extra ones and keep the latest. (Right-click and check about in that tab).

Make sure it is enabled.

RE: mozilla 3

That's the thing. When I first install it, it's there in the extensions. After I open mozilla again it's gone and i have to go and reinstall it. I'm trying to avoid having to always reinstall it. Is there a setting I need to change or something?

RE: mozilla 3

You might search my thread "SiteAdvisor disappears with Firefox 3.0", begun on July 15 for a similar situation. Are you using the most recent version of SA?

RE: mozilla 3

If the icon is disappearing from FF and not IE then I suspect there is a Firefox issue at play rather than a McAfee one.

hmm

Peter might be correct ... but try this and let's know..

1.Uninstall Siteadvisor from add/remove and reboot then delete the folders by searching on the computer.

2. open FF and from FF visit the Siteadvisor website and install the free version via FF
3.Close all windows
4.Open Internet explorer.
5.Visit either your account (if its Siteadvisor plus) or the free one at siteadvisor website
6.From the IE download the Siteadvisor
7.Save the setup
8.Close all browsers
9.Install the saved file.
10.OPen Internet explorer and check.. close it and re-check
11.Finally check on Firefox...
12.Reboot (computer) and test again on firefox after say 20 mins on IE (with net on to allow any updates to get through)
