Wrong URL Categorization

Jump to solution

Hi,

Download URL of our application Advance System Care is blocked by McAfee SiteAdvisor/WebAdvisor. Details are as follows:-

URL:  Link removed

Categorization: - Spyware/Adware/Keyloggers

Reputation: Medium Risk

Advance System Care is a genuine application to optimize Windows for better performance. This app does not modify any existing system settings, nor does it inject ads or hijack browsers. It is not involved in any kind of malicious activities. Our company is not only losing millions of users but our reputation and web traffic is also getting affected because of this wrong categorization. thus, would request you to change this wrong categorization ASAP.

Regards,

Ashish Parihar

Ticket ID '#1317812', These requests will be addressed within an average of 3-5 business days with some requests requiring additional review and taking longer. You may also "Track URL Ticket status", if you had registered with trustedsource prior to ticket creation.

Cheers

Sanjay

Best to get the actual file submitted and cleared then webadvisor will allow it.

Please follow these Guidelines/Instructions to help resolve your issues. What To Do When McAfee Detects Software As An Infection - How to Submit To McAfee Labs & Appeal

I might add that after submitting your individual detections, you should receive a Analysis ID #.  Please allow 3-4 days for the Labs to Analyze/Process. If not 'Whitelisted' after following Protocol, kindly reply back and provide the Analysis ID. I/We will then contact someone internally at McAfee Labs on your behalf to expedite your issues.

Link has been removed till Mcafee deems file safe

Hi Peacekeeper,

McAfee Antivirus is not detecting our application. Advance System Care is marked as Safe by McAfee Antivirus. only the URL is blocked by the McAfee SiteAdvisor/WebAdvisor.

I have also submitted this URL to www.trustedsource.org but didn't get any response yet.

Here is the Ticket ID is '#1317812'

Regards,

Ashish

Hmm ok thought it was the AV blocking it as webadvisor has a scanning function. As a test did you try the file in www.virustotal.com?

The trusted source path should give you feedback within 48hrs from my experience if not post back and I will escalate it.

,

Moved thread  from Artemis Discussion to McAfee WebAdvisor (formerly SiteAdvisor) > Discussions. As it is a more appropriate area for assistance.

If this is globalpcworks your main site is marked as Minimal Risk.  I wish that URL had not been removed, because without the URL I can't see where the problem might be. Can you send me the URL in a Private Message?

You had an earlier problem with an Artemis detection -

and in that post you referred to "System Care" as the name of the product.

Here you call it "Advance System Care" which sent me off in the wrong direction : that is the name of a product from iobit.com, and their website is flagged by Sucuri as malware-infected. Your site is clean according to multiple scanning programs, and if TrustedSource gives the site a Green rating then WebAdvisor will shortly follow suit.

I see there was a site rating dispute with Norton a couple of months ago and they made the point that if the product being downloaded is bundled with other programs then either the download file or the download site may be flagged as suspicious. I can't see if that's the case here but it's something to bear in mind.
