Why is my website showing Warning Suspicious Site?

Hello

We are a web design company and one of our customers has told us that our website is giving him a McAffee Warning of a Suspicious site.

The website is iconwebsitedesign.com

How can we take our website out from your database?

Please help

Your website has a Yellow rating for Spam URLs. The TrustedSource Explained document defines those as


Spam URLs


Links to web pages that arrive in unsolicited spam email.

Spam URL content ranges from product marketing to potentially offensive or fraudulent sites.

This category includes sites built only for spamming purposes such as spam blogs or comment spam.

According to Cisco SenderBase the site was sending out about 200,000 emails a day from February 1st to February 9th, which looks like some kind of marketing campaign. The volume of email has dropped back to nearly zero, but for those few days Cisco scored you at 4.1 on a log scale of 1 to 10. That might be a factor in your site's current rating : a score over 4 is enough to get you noticed.

In passing, you might also want to update the WordPress version used on the site from 3.8.5 to the current version, which is 4.1

  • Safe Connect VPN:  You will receive free, unlimited access to our VPN wireless on supported devices. Users not on auto-renewal have access to 500 MB/month of bandwidth.

  • Eligibility: McAfee® Identity Monitoring Service Essentials is available within active McAfee Total Protection and McAfee LiveSafe subscriptions with identity monitoring for up to 10 unique emails. Phone number monitoring is enabled upon activation of Automatic Renewal. Not all identity monitoring elements are available in all countries. See Product Terms of Service for more information. 
  • Your subscription is subject to our License Agreement and Privacy Notice. Product features may be added, changed or removed during the subscription term. Some features may require registration and a valid ID number to activate. See System Requirements for additional information.
  • While McAfee Identity Monitoring Service provides you tools and resources to protect yourself from identity theft, no identity can be completely secure.
  • US Only:
    Fair Credit Reporting Act: You have numerous rights under the FCRA, including the right to dispute inaccurate information in your credit report(s).
