Bad news... Siteadvisor version# 3.7.9.141... the strange characters are appearing. Is this a newer version of 3.7.2.199, or an older one with a difference in features?
Hi Cohbraz,
The build you have, 3.7.9, is actually the initial release of WebAdvisor - when it was still branded as SiteAdvisor, just to add to the confusion.... :-). I posted about that in
https://community.mcafee.com/thread/77213
In order to get the fix for this Firefox issue, you'll need SiteAdvisor 3.7.2.199. The best solution is to uninstall this version from the Control Panel, and then download from SiteAdvisor.com (it will auto-update to 3.7.2.199)
Thanks for that information.
I will probably just keep this and wait for it to update.
Well, using SA 3.7.2.199, I had the same issue crop up today in Firefox. Firefox version 36.0.4.
SA 3.7.2.203 here with FF 37 and no issues.
I'm beginning to wonder if this is more a Firefox issue.
Hello,
It began again to appear the strange characters (Japanese or Chinese appears) in tabs bar portion of Firefox 37.0.2 now with "McAfee SiteAdvisor Live" 3.7.2.214 version.
Mine have been fine since 3.7.2.199 version. I am on 4.0.274 now and no issues.
You should move up to 4 at some stage it is being slowly released to your affid number.
I will ask though
Webadvisor is, I thought, only for Windows 7 and upwards, no?
Correct I forgot oagard is on XP
Oagard the Siteadvisor tech we talk to has forwarded your issue to the development team.
