Hello
ever since mcafee securitycenter has been updateted to 11.6 my online banking is becomming slow.
I tried on my laptop with free avira antivir and free siteadvisor on the laptop it is fast.
I did a full scan with mcafee super antispyware mbam hitman pro and microsoft safety scanner.
All the scans comes out clean.
the other sites are loading fast as useal
What else could i try?
Are there other people with this issue?
I have total protection 2011 on a windows 7 64bit pc.
If this is only something you're seeing with online banking a few thoughts occur.
- Are you using a special program for this or is it just a normal browser connection to the bank's website?
- Is your connection to the bank's site using https?
- Are you using wi-fi for this or an Ethernet connection?
You've run a lot of scanning programs but if you suspect there might be a possibility of interception of your communications with the bank then you should first alert the bank and let them know there might be a problem. In some cases the banks can check the security of the link from their end, but more important they will be watching for any unusual transactions. You could also ask them to set up a confirmation system for any withdrawals over a certain amount.
As for anything else you can run I would suggest Stinger (which will look for rootkits) and GetSusp (which just looks for any unrecognised files, and usually flags some innocent ones).
Hi
I use a normal browser connection with https on a ethernet connection.
It works fine on my laptop.
i already did a scan with stinger also clean
I did a scan with getsusp and there where 4 suspicious files and 8 unknow files.
What should i do with the results?
Two options, as far as I can see -
One, in GetSusp there's an option to upload for checking anything flagged.
See http://www.mcafee.com/us/downloads/free-tools/how-to-use-getsusp.aspx
Q: How can I manually submit a file using GetSusp?
A: One can use the UPLOAD option within GetSusp to manually point to suspect files and send them to McAfee.
Two, use the standard (by email) file submission procedure -

There's a special group for GetSusp which you can join -
