That's strange, not too sure what to suggest to be honest.

Re: SiteAdvisor marking downloads as dangerous

My downloads lately have all been marked green so the powers that be are asking for particular examples of this.

Re: SiteAdvisor marking downloads as dangerous

Go to the following page, click on any of the offered PSD or PNG art. On the page for that file to be shared, click "download" and indicate where the file is to be saved. The file will start to download, then the red pop-up window from Siote Advisor will pop up. This happens whether you are downloading the PNG opr PSD file itself, or anything zipped into a RAR or Zip file, even if it is a Zip of some JPGs.

http://browse.deviantart.com/resources/applications/psd/

Below are some JPG files at the same site that downloading causes the red pop-up. In this case, one is just saving the JPG on the first page.

Gives a warning when saving the JPG you see right on the first page:

http://browse.deviantart.com/resources/stockart/?order=1025#/dggc47

http://browse.deviantart.com/resources/stockart/?order=1025#/dgamj8

http://browse.deviantart.com/resources/stockart/?order=1025&offset=120&offset=120#/dgc9ex

http://browse.deviantart.com/resources/stockart/?order=1025&offset=120&offset=120#/dgbc05

On many of the JPS displayed on the site, one must click "download" to get to a page with the full version of the JPG. Older items on the site have been opening in the same window, trasitioning to the webpage with the full sized JPG. Attempting to right-click download any of those was causing SA to give the warning once the file started to download, but that has changed today and the warnings are not popping up. I could not find any right now giving the warning.

The newer JPGs shared on the site (like in the last few weeks) - when one clicked on "download" to see the full sized version of the picture and then save it, if it opened in a new pop-up window, the file could be saved with no Site Advisor warning. I cannot find examples of that now since all the newer files seem to open in a transition in the same window today.

Any Zip or RAR file saved at the site will cause a Site advisor warning when downloading:

http://browse.deviantart.com/resources/stockart/?qh=&section=&q=pack#/d132v66

If you need any further examples, please let me know.

Re: SiteAdvisor marking downloads as dangerous

Bottom line if this does not get fix McAfee is off my system.

McAfee was the first program I used when it was totally free 20+ years ago ( I forget when).

Then I switched to another product. Now I my New Dell XPS came with McAfee for free 15months or so.

I may just dump it before then and tell all my 1,000s of friends about this issue, Oh wait, they don't use McAfee anyway ...

Re: SiteAdvisor marking downloads as dangerous

The problem does continue, and there has been no further response here, nor any apparent change to the program. Safe downloads from numerous sites still create an inappropriate red warning.

I am considering a change as well. I've trusted and relied on McAfee for years as a very loyal customer, recommending it to all my friends until now. I am deeply disappointed.

I've been unsuccessful raising anyone in that department so will flag this in our internal area.

Re: SiteAdvisor marking downloads as dangerous

Hopefully they can come up with a solution or a setting to make this warning go away for legit sites.

sites like Deviant Art have 14.5 million members, and over 100 million submissions , so it would be a pain to have to always click to allow download.
