My browser is Mozilla Firefox version 3.6.8, and my computer is a Windows XP. I used to use SiteAdvisor, which worked excellently, until today it randomly disappeared all of a sudden. I didn't update or install anything new. I removed the program, reinstalled it and rebooted my computer, but it still wasn't appearing! I did this again two times, but with no success. When I go to Tools>Addons, it shows that SiteAdvisor will be installed when I restart Firefox. I restarted Firefox, but it still did not appear and in the Addons window it still said to restart my Firefox. Help?
I'm very scared to browse the web now. When SA was working, I was surprised how many bad websites there were! But now I'm not sure what websites to trust. I can't just go to the SA website all the time to check a website.
SiteAdvisor's been updated to be compatible with Firefox 5 and 6. Maybe that means it's not backward-compatible with Firefox 3.6 - which Mozilla are saying is about to become unsupported. Why don't you update to the latest version of Firefox, which runs SiteAdvisor without any problems?
If you want to stay with 3.6 for a while longer, go into Add-Ons and see if Firefox has disabled SiteAdvisor. If it has, then enable it. If not, and you want to use SiteAdvisor, you'll have to switch to Internet Explorer or Chrome.
