Site was "Medium Risk" now "Unverified" after support ticket closed.

Jump to solution

Hi there, someone on Twitter alerted me today that my site was coming up as "Medium Risk" via WebAdvisor. My site comes back clean everywhere else and I feel this may have been due to an issue created by an older site host for the domain in late 2015 that caused a false positive with both Google and Norton Safe Web (both of which reverified the site after the site was moved to a new hosting company).

I submitted a support ticket (TicketID: 1276260) asking for a rescan of the site and also submitting a category for the site as there previously wasn't one listed. As I was unaware of WebAdvisor until this past evening, I submitted category updates to two other sites I own that were unverified and had no categories listed. The other two tickets for those sites closed within an hour, the categories were updated, and now both sites are shown as "safe" by WebAdvisor (example: benarp.com | Web Safety Ratings from McAfee SiteAdvisor).

A few hours later, the TicketID: 1276260 for the site shown as "Medium Risk" closed. The category was updated correctly, but the site went from "Medium Risk" to "Unverified". I suppose this is a step in the right direction but is there some way I can get the site scanned and verified or at the very least find out what specifically the automated system is finding wrong with the site that is keeping it as "unverified"? The current WebAdvisor scan: turnheel.com | Web Safety Ratings from McAfee SiteAdvisor

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide in directing me to right place to get this issue cleared up. I submitted an email to "sites@mcafee.com" as instructed on the support ticket page in addition to submitting the ticket mentioned above. Should I just wait a few days to see if the email will get the site rescanned or should I submit a new ticket through the automated system?

Thanks,

Ben

It seems as though you followed the proper protocol. I would wait a couple of days and see if it changes. If not I would resubmit it again. If you still run into any issues, kindly post back and we will attempt to escalate your case. Simply provide the Ticket # from Trusted Source.

All the Best,
