I don't know how this happened but my last McAfee update was on Saturday 7th June. I purposely ignored updates yesterday the 8th June and so far today I have not been asked to update. Why would it update Site Advisor and Anti-Spam without me asking it to. My update settings are set to notify me when updates are available. Site Advisor has the new 3.7.0.190 build and is dated the 9th June and Anti-Spam has content update marked as the 8th June. I have no idea how this could happen. You will note Anti-Virus and Anti Spyware is dated the 7th June which is the last date I allowed McAfee to update my system. I expect there may be a logical answer so I am asking you guys if you know what might have happened?

The updates you ignored were to antivirus and other components except SiteAdvisor.
SA updates independently of settings and can't be prevented from doing so.
I suggest yuo always allow updates otherwise your software couyld cease protecting you.
BTW I moved this to SiteAdvisor as the header is about that.
SiteAdvisor updates come via a different mechanism from regular McAfee program updates. They're on a different circuit, more or less. They come automatically, no prompting involved.
Anti-Spam may be the same since the update you see is only for spam definitions, no change to the programs.
