last update check ???
Just now updated SA to latest version....... did not solve the problem. I had to disable the service again, as previously described.
Dinesh T,
The following was taken from my SecurityCenter "McAfee Product Information" QUI-based report:
SiteAdvisor
Version: 2.9
Build 2.9.258
AffId: 0-908
Language: en-us
Last Update: 10/1/2009
BTW, how can I get a character-based report of the data in SecurityCenter's QUI-based "McAfee Product Information" report?
Dinesh T, in entry 9, you stated:
> Its applicable to existing users as well
Does this translate to 'pushed'. For example, today I received a McAfee message window stating that antivirus program(s) had been updated and that a restart of my PC was required to complete the update. I took this to be an update to the VirusScan software. (In fact SecurityCenter, VirusScan, & Personal Firewall all show as being updated today, 11/19/2009.) This exemplifies my definition of a software 'push'.
Eight products/components were/are installed with my McAfee Total Protection 2010: SecurityCenter, VirusScan, Personal Firewall, SiteAdvisor, Anti-Spam, Parental Controls, EasyNetwork, & Backup and Restore. Are software updates 'pushed' for all of them? (This would be consistent and make the most sense.) Or are only some of them 'pushed', and which ones are they?
Where as other updates I receive are either VirusScan's virus definition (DAT file) updates or Aniti-Spam's Content updates. I define this as a data 'push'.
Also, is there a log of all the 'pushed' software updates, including which components were updated, à la Microsoft Update?
Thanks.
