Not quite nobody.
We'll press for an explanation of the reasons behind the latest Firefox messages, but right now we don't have anything much to go on. Mozilla will, I hope, provide us with the details.
Edit - @All : I have FF 7.01 and SA 3.4.0.143 and FF is not giving me the "disable" message. Anyone on a different version of either? Using SA Live, perhaps?
fwiw this machine has Internet Security 2010 on it - what McAfee product/version have you got?
(This request-for-info is going into the other FF/SA threads on this issue as well).

I think this was a bulletin from Mozilla, not something built into version 7.01.

And it only gets worse. Foxfire 7 just put up a dialog box telling me that the McAfee Scriptscan extension should be disabled because it's causing problems.
I pay for the security package and a good part of it is now disabled -- Netguards, SiteAdvisor, and now Scriptscan -- in order to give me trouble-free operation. It's ironic that to make your browsing trouble-free you have to disable programs that are supposed to make your browsing trouble-free. 😞
I'm still running XP, but I just bought Windows 7 Ultimate and will be going 64-bit. Maybe that will help.
People do care and are acting on it right now but it has nothing to do with this thread. Please read THIS thread. Scriptscan is a VirusScan function, not SiteAdvisor.
Has anybody contacted Technical support regarding this issue , If so can you provide us with the ticket no for the same so as we could take it higher . Also, it would be great to provide us with a screen shot of the error that you receive in Firefox along with the version number and Build no for McAfee site advisor from About option in Security center
Regards,
Dinesh, the ScriptScan issue is being discussed in several threads in the VirusScan section. I have emailed our contact about it too.
If you need pictures here are some: https://community.mcafee.com/message/209116#209116
As you will see from my reply there, I experienced the same thing.
Also Firefox is now version 7.0.1 anyway. The ScriptScan issue isn't anything to do with SiteAdvisor so shouldn't be discussed in this thread.
Sorry, I wasn't aware of which part of the Security Center the Scriptscan extension was attached to.
No problem. 😉
