A few days ago a warning popped up on my computer telling me i was at risk and my firewall was turned off. I checked McAfee and tried turning it back on, which worked for about 1 second, and then it immediately switched itself back off again. I've done full scans with McAfee and with an internet based anti-virus and removed anything i found (which was almost nothing) and still it won't work. What should i do in this situation?

Sounds the same
Try what is said there and then if no good try
Firstly a scan with Getsusp and malwarebytes With getsusp add your email address to the preferences in case it finds a new detection. Do not accept a trial of the fulkl malwarebytes as it will clash with mcafe's real time scanner
get them here McAfee Communities: Anti-Spyware, Malware & Hijacker Tools
If no good still then remove Malwarebytes as it will clash when you try a uninstall then reinstall of Mcafee. It is fine to reload it after Mcafee.

I tried all the other stuff and it didn't work, so in the end i had to uninstall and then reinstall McAfee entirely. As fo right now this seems to have solved the problem. I'll keep an eye on it from now on just to be sure.
Thanks good luck sometimes that is the best fix . BTW you been using registry cleaners?
