Hello,
I was trying to download a videogame (Neverwinter) and the company's download suggested to use a torrent. So I went to download utorrent, however when hitting the DL button my mcafee siteadvisor popped up saying something about "http://download-new.utorrent.com/endpoint/utorrent/os/win/track/stable/" containing a virus? I was forwarded to this page: http://www.siteadvisor.com/restricted.html?domain=http:%2F%2Fdownload-new.utorrent.com%2Fendpoint%2F...
Does anyone know what this pop up is based on? I am aware that misuse of torrent programs can lead to a lot of problems (such as the downloading of virusses), but is the link itself infected?
Kind regards,
Outeu
Those links are to warn you that the website is possibly risky, but you'll notice that you can click "Visit Anyway" if you want to go there anyway. It's merely for your own protection.
Maybe you weren't downloading from uTorrent's actual website? Some 3rd party websites can have bad downloads too.

SiteAdvisor is saying that it finds malware in files downloadable from the site. I don't know what else is on the site but as an experiment I downloaded the utorrent.exe file and scanned it with McAfee and Malwarebytes and neither of them found anything wrong with it.
