When I update my McAfee 2011 Antivirus Plus with the current update, I get an error that IE8 has stopped working and closes the current tab everytime I use the internet. After doing a system restore and not doing the update, IE8 works fine. Any solutions to this? I turned automatic update off for now.

Don't stop McAfee updating or you will become even less secure.
Is Windows 7 SP1 or not?

You should keep IE9 as it is safer.
Make sure IE has its default permissions in the firewall.
Double-click the taskbar icon to open SecurityCenter
Click Web and Email Protection
Click Firewall
Click Internet Connection for Programs
Look for Internet Explorer and make sure it is Full permission.
If thast doesn't help then I recommend contacting Technical Support linked under Useful Links at the top of this page.

Moved this to the SiteAdvisor section in the hope that someone with more knowledge spots this. I can only assume that SiteAdvisor is clashing with some other add-on. By the way, if your have a 64-bit system please only use the 32-bit version of Internet Explorer as many add-ons have a hard time coping with 64-bit.
I'm using SiteAdvisor in IE9 and Firefox 6 with no problems.
