I am running Windows 7 with IE8, after install site advisor did a Google search.  The search results do not have the safety rating.  I had tried to reinstall, reboot but none of these moves help.

Re: IE8 with no safety rating to Google search results

Hi,

Try to reset Internet Explorer and check whether the check marks appear next to the search results ?

Also check whether all three add ons for site advisor are enabled > (Tools - manage add ons )

Regards,

Re: IE8 with no safety rating to Google search results

Done all the reboot, reset, reinstallation.  No good.  There are 2 add-ons "toolbar & BHO" and they all "enable".  Acutally, I did the same installation to another new Windows 7 machine and it end up with the same thing.  My guess is this is not designed for IE8...

Re: IE8 with no safety rating to Google search results

I only installed site advisor and use other anti-whatever.  If this thing only with full MacAfee anti-everything installed then it should say so.  Anyway, I had tried at least 3 times on each of my Windows 7 machines and none of them are working except the MacAfee tool bar shows up but no site security ranking icons at the end of each Google search results.

By the way, it does work on the Firefox so I would say that my Windows 7 is fine.  My system is fully patched just in case anyone might asked.

Re: IE8 with no safety rating to Google search results

I have uninstalled the site advisor for 2 reasons:

(1) it does not work with IE8 in my case.  A good product should just work without any "tweaking".  It is a good ideal for this type of product though.

(2) some of the sites have been marked red but the reason was not convincing.  For example: news.cn.  The news.cn is a China News site and nothing else.  On the other hand the  www.Goole.com has a lot of download files with Trojan issue but it marked green as safe site, so what is the standard here?

For these reasons I will not longer try to resolve the issue.  Thank you all for your time and advices.
