With SiteAdvisor Free installations you don't have to accept installation of the Yahoo Toolbar. However, if you missed that option when you installed SiteAdvisor (it comes up when the SiteAdvisor icon first appears during the installation process), it can eventually be removed leaving SiteAdvisor intact.
To do this open Internet Explorer.
Right-click the toolbar area and enable the Yahoo Toolbar if not already enabled.
You will see that SiteAdvisor's icon is part of that toolbar.
Click the small arrow to the right of that icon and select "Detach from Yahoo Toolbar".
Close and reopen Internet Explorer.
Right-click the toolbar area and select "Unlock the Toolbars".
Click to the left of SiteAdvisor's icon and pull it over to where you want it.
Right-click the toolbar area again and deselect Yahoo Toolbar.
It will vanish.
Right-click the toolbar area again and select "Lock Toolbars".
You can now remove Yahoo Toolbar if you wish in the normal manner via Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs (Programs/Uninstall a Program in Vista or Windows 7).
