Horizontal scroll bar

SiteAdvisor 2.6.0.6261
Internet Explorer 7
WinXP SP3

I get a horizontal scroll bar on some sites, like Google search results pages and this forum. This forum is way bad - two screens wide! My view is TWO screens wide with a scroll bar @ bottom. I confirmed that it is SiteAdvisor by disabling everything except SA, then finally disabling SA. After killing SA everything is fine.

Any ideas? Thank you.

RE: Horizontal scroll bar

No offence, but you must be a computer novice. Screen resolution is a 1% chance occurrence. Browsers adapt width to fit a window size.

Anyway, it's a 1920x1200 17" high resolution wide screen monitor.

I have found that SiteAdvisor injects or otherwise manipulates code into webpages and I believe it is either the "safe_en-US.css" or "safesearch.js" that is responsible.

RE: Horizontal scroll bar

Something is wrong with your browser then as this is how it has always looked to me, unless someone posts a huge image as part of their post. I've rediced the one below in size anyway from my native 1680 X 1050

RE: Horizontal scroll bar

Ok, I thought that standard screen resolution was still 1024 X 768.
But time moves fast on the net. I've also noticed that portable pc's
tend to have wider width but smaller height compared to stationary screens.

I know that "Browsers adapt width to fit a window size."
But websites don't necessarily do the same,
if their code is faulty or inflexible...

PS: No one is an expert in all directions. New opportunities pop up
on the net constantly, and each time we're all newbies again.
If I'm a novice at least I've been so for a while.
Here's my first: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grundy_NewBrain
(After 14 years I finally bought a pc...)
