Hi Ex_Brit.
I wasn’t actually having a pop at you guys in here  In actual fact, I’m surprised that the paid staff at McAfee have not taken a few minutes out to rescue this thread. It seems pretty selfish to let their unpaid volunteers take the brunt of complaints for the very products and services that they themselves make their fortunes from.
And let’s not forget why some folks come to this forum in the first place. I for one, and I assume most of the others who have ended up in here to complain over the months/years, have done so as a last resort. I mean, McAfee have all the contact links, forms, and emails in place, but it’s evident to all that they just don’t work! But it is my guess that they get inundated with complaints and chose to ignore them rather than take them on.
As for whether it’s worth being an unpaid volunteer for this outfit, only you can answer that, but from what I can see here, they treat you guys with as much disrespect as they do with us outraged white hat webmasters.
So no, you moderators were not the virtual stone I was referring to! I was aiming my frustration at those making money from misdemeanors, and they all know who they are. I will not apologise for someone else’s incompetence, as it is I, and those in similar situations, that are being pushed from pillar to post here.
So no disrespects intended to any forum helpers, in fact my hat is off to you guys, but as this appears to be the only place to air ones MacAfee grievances, I shall continue to use this forum until such times as they stop damaging my online business.
I have a total of 34 live websites out there, and it’s my aim to get some kind of guaranteed improved support system from McAfee SiteAdvisor before this whole fiasco comes to an end. If any of my other projects should end up with the same damage reports as roomfinder, then there just has to be a fast track system in place to get the harm removed pronto. Heck, I don’t think I’ve got another protest in me, so it’s crucial to get some results here assuming McAfee are to continue warning the worlds surfers about sites they consider harmful to visitors.
I’ve had this problem now since September 2007 as you will be well aware of now, and in all this time, the most positive response I’ve had (if you can call it positive) is that my site is In a queue and that I should allow 6 weeks at least before it gets a retest, and that my friend, is what you might call an atrocious response. What does ‘at least 6 weeks’ mean anyway? 6 weeks to a year, 2 years, infinity maybe?
Yeah, I’m still livid because these people are losing me money, and they have no right to do that. My business is NOT THEIR BUSINESS, but it appears that they have decided to make anyone’s online business their concern for the good of their bottom line...
