Re: Firefox 29 and SiteAdvisor

Hi thanks for posting.  Yes they are aware of this issue as we Moderators have been testing it and just a short while ago I forwarded my findings to them.

I have discovered a way of restoring the old-style buttons, with or without text, and more importantly, the Add-on toolbar which will then display the SA icon, albeit very small.  But the beauty of this is that using the Customise option you can now drag the SA icon to the top toolbar where it will show normal size.

The writer of the add-on recommends deletion of 'localstore.rdf' after upgrading FF.

Read more here:  https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/?src=ss

Note: that's the US download.   Not sure if there are others.

I realise that this is a stopgap method but at least it will work for now until they issue a revision to SA.    BTW that add-on has quite a few options and it really is a good one.

Re: Firefox 29 and SiteAdvisor

I have screenshots using the above add-on, of the before and after dragging the SA icon to the top to illustrate what I mean.  Note I use the Lavafox V2 theme.

This is in Win 7 and you can click the images to enlarge.

Re: Firefox 29 and SiteAdvisor

As you've discovered Mozilla released Firefox 29 last night.  Firefox 29 removes the ability to put our SiteAdvisor toolbar at the bottom.

We are aware of this issue and are currently working on addressing this in our next release SA 3.7 which will *begin* a slow release on Thursday (May 1st).

The toolbar in SA 3.7 will change to an icon and be placed at the top, like this:

Meanwhile, you are still fully protected - your searches will still receive annotations.  You may check this yourself by going to your favourite search engine webpage or typing your search query into the Secure Search bar - annotations should appear on the search result page.

Re: Firefox 29 and SiteAdvisor

Hello dougk_t3 and other persons,

I am also with this problem.

After updating Firefox to version 29.0, I had to install the add-on "Classic Theme Restorer" - (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/) to replace the Firefox on the theme "Classic" as I had before, and also to place the icons and menus on sites that I want.

But it turns out that the "McAfee SiteAdvisor Live" icon is now small.

Let's see if the McAfee fix this as soon as possible.

greetings,

Rui Porto

Re: Firefox 29 and SiteAdvisor

I described above how to get it back to normal size by using Customise.

Re: Firefox 29 and SiteAdvisor

Hello Ex_Brit,

I know, I saw, and I had already tested this way, placing the bar above and elsewhere, but I want the icon of "McAfee SiteAdvisor Live" get down on the status bar and not elsewhere.

I hope that the correction by McAfee, then do not place the icon where we do not want, just wish that with the new update fixes the problem, but leave the icon in the status bar below.

greetings,

Rui Porto
