Bug in Ver 2.9.239?

Upon booting up my computer this morning, a McAfee popup window presented information inre changes to the "Siteadvisor" plugin.

Now, when I select ANY of the menu options from the siteadvisor icon, a popup window displays that appears to be not only non-functional (when clicking on anything), but impossible to close except by closing the browser itself (IE7 in my case).

BTW, I'm using the McAfee service provided by Comcast and I installed "Siteadvisor" as a separate installation.

I got the same and I'm not using Comcast, I think the servers must have been busy/overloaded/down.

For the record, the problem persists using IE7 but functions normally using Firefox. Perhaps I need to delete McAfee and re-install.

Hi

if your mcafee security center is working properly i think it's better not to uninstall and reinstall.

since siteadvisor is working with mozilla firefox, i think this could be a browser issue... try resetting your IE browser and turn back on the plug-ins... also try updating the browser... please don't upgrade to IE8 beta as it creates problems for mcafee... 🙂

hope this helps...

RE: Hi

If Siteadvisor isn't listed separately in Add/Remove, select the McAfee Security Center item and then a list should appear. Hopefully it will be listed there and can be selectively removed.

This is not an issue with the Browser.. try running the patch mentioned and then close all the internet explorer windows and restart the machine and try again

RE: Hi

Interesting. Clicking on McAfee in add-remove presents an option menu and siteadvisor is included, but greyed out.

Also, the Comcast security page related to their free McAfee package appears to have been updated, though they give no information as to the version that will be installed.

I'm nervous about "regfix" executes in general but I tried it. However, the link above gets me to a McAfee "error" notice.

Do you have a revised link?
