virus database

Hi

I am using the command line virus scanner tool and regularly downloading the DAT updates. I have noticed that when running the scanner the figure quoted for "scanning for xxx virus, trojans and variants" has decreased. Several years ago this figure was around 670000, now it is showing around 596000.

How do we know what had been dropped from the list? Are DOS and older windows viruses still scanned for? If not is it possible to get a copy of the older DAT file that would have these signatures?

Thanks

Mike
