Hi Community,
I am writing automation scripts that check configuration settings for McAfee AV Scan. Vscan.bof is the file containing the Access Protection Rules, however, it is digitally signed and looks garbled when opening it. Is there some way that this file can be reviewed for its contents legibly?'
Thanks!
Keith

All the very Best,
Unless one of the other mods know the answer or a McAfee tech chimes in they may not tell you because it may have something to with proprietory issues in the writing of the software.
Sorry I couldnt give you the answer you were looking for.
I assume you are referring to the Enterprise/Corporate Virus Scan? Actually the (Vscan.bof) is the default AccessProtection and Buffer Overflow Protection Content file.
As Tom stated, due to proprietory reasons could very well explain the reasons for being incapable of (Fully) reviewing the contents. Which I would feel comfortable knowing it is inaccessable/or difficult to retrieve.
As I am more "Versed" on the Consumer Side of things, this is only a guess?
Regards,
Saw this while on the weekly call so I asked about it.
Tom is spot on, absolutely right. The poster is asking to view proprietary information which is not available except to high-level techs in McAfee; it definitely wouldn't be released to all and sundry.
So to knance I have to say, no joy.
