Jump to solution

Hi Friends,

My system recently affected with a trogan virus "Generic.dx!zug" on file mswsock.dll

My system configuration :-

Toshiba Qosmio X-500

Windows 7 Ultimate

Mcafee total Protection 2011 - fully updated 14-june-2011

6GB Ram

1.5TB HDD

The symptoms was when i restarted my laptop after installing many update softwares.

Suddenly Mcafee Virus alert kept Pop-ing on my main screen.

I clicked restart now to remove the trogan.

But after Restart it kept on poping the same message again and again.

I had restarted almost 10 times.

Then when i tried manually remove the file mswsock.dll from safe mode,Following happened :-

1. Mcafee Real time scanning got disabled. I am not able to 'on' Real time scanning there after.its automatically Changing to "off" condition

2. Unable to connect to internet. Chrome and IE

3. When i did a full scan, in between this Virus message poped, Thus my scan got stuck there.

4. I was unsuccessful to remove the file because its in use and need authorization from microsft Trusted installer and some craps.....

Please help me to avoid this Virus.

I may upload the virus alert dialog.

If you need any more information please let me know.

Thank you

Regards
