missing crt files and dat not updating

had to install mcafee security centre 12.1 (on the advice of mcafee) as i was not getting dat updates, on day one mcafee updated, than did not get updates for two days, day three i got two updates, ran mvt and am told that there are no problems but on checking the crt files are missing can some one tell me what the crt files do/are do i need them, what is going on with dat updates.

Crt files?  I don't understand what you mean by that.   12.1 updates in a different manner, it doesn't use DAT's at all.

Also the MVT servers are acting up so it is giving incorrect results in some cases.

Do you mean digital certificates are showing as missing?  I wouldn't rely on what MVT says at the moment for reasons I already stated.

You might want to also check Windows Updates for anything there.

CRT files are digital certificates. The .crt suffix is usually found on (*)nix systems. The more normal suffix in Windows is .cer
