mfe runtime.dat?

Hello,
I noticed when I get updates for my viruscan that unlike my wife's three entries in
her dat folder I receive an extra dat file that is named mferuntime.dat . What is it
and should she receive it also? We both have the same Mcafee products installed.
Thanks
hubie

RE: mfe runtime.dat?

Hello ,
Would one of the techs be so kind as to get back with
me on my request for an answer to my question about what
mfe runtime.dat is. I know this a user forum but i figure someone
will know the answer to this.
Thanks in advance,

RE: mfe runtime.dat?

the 'mferuntime.dat' file is the temp dat file after auto update, it should be safe to delete it to save disk space.

RE: mfe runtime.dat?

mferuntime dat is not a temp file and must not be deleted!

Its a file that is used to improve the performance of the scan by storing some settings

Addendum: However these files get replaced or removed by the products themselves when deemed unsuitable by the application. These files are like a cache for the scan application.
